Dear BASM Parents,
I am delighted to be able to offer a warm welcome to The British Academy School Marrakech. I am thrilled to be part of the School at this exciting time in its young history.
We are first and foremost a family school, by which I mean we want siblings to be able to study together, here at BASM, and feel equally valued, irrespective of their talents, aptitudes and interests. For experience tells us that in spite of common parentage, brothers, sisters, are seldom carbon copies of each other. In fact the opposite is more likely to be true.
Our principal aim is straightforward We want every child to be safe and to enjoy their time at BASM; to feel valued as individuals, in an environment where their talents can prosper to the benefit of this community, so that when the time comes to leave us, each will do so with confidence high, skills sharpened and personalities rounded.
Whether you child joins us in Nursery or Year 9, one thing is for sure, they will change throughout their time with us. Some changes will be subtle – little things such as having more confidence to make new friends or to try new things. Others will be more striking: leaving with the firm belief that life is about expectations; aiming high, having high aspirations. They will also develop awareness of our set of core values – responsibility, open-mindedness, perseverance, moral courage, compassion and kindness.
It does not matter whether your child is with us for two or ten years, we want them to head out into the world ready to contribute something new and positive to it, because fulfilling one’s potential, is ultimately about being creative.
In closing I make but one promise, your child will need no persuading to come to school in the morning, but it may well be very difficult to persuade them to leave at the end of the school day!
I do hope to meet you here soon.
